Holy Avtar Vani - Shabad No. 148
Man di ag thandi nahi honi lakhaan bhes vataayi ja;
Dargaahin nahin manya jana kinni chaal chalaayi ja.
Antkaal eh karam hi tere tainu hor fasaawange;
Narak swarg di kaidaan andar tainu lai ke jaawange.
toon karmaan nun bhogan khaatar murh murh joona pavenga;
maan de garbh ch puttha tangya bande tun kurlayenga.
Haami teri kise nahin bharni ro ro neer vahavenga;
Ghorha khota kutta ban ban vich chaurasi aavenga.
Naam hari da jaanan jehrhe ohiyo mukti pande ne;
Kahe avtar guru de sikh hi ehdi mahima gande ne.
Meaning
Here Baba Avtar Singh ji says that the aim (objective) of human life is to know and realise God. Only actions will not help man to attain salvation. The countless wants and desires of man will never be satisfied if he changes appearance. He will only be taken through the cycle of births and deaths if he does the above actions and this will not be accepted by God. And at the time of death, only these actions will affect. No one in this world will come to help if man cries. He will come in the form of horse or dog and enter the 84 lakhs cycle of birth and death. Therefore, blessed will be the ones who have the knowledge of God. And the saints of the True Master will sing the praise of the Almighty Lord.
